Dr. Crippen the
Crippen was an American doctor who was of the of his wife Cora and to death by . At the time in the early 1900s, his execution took place soon after a spectacular that was followed closely in the by the public.
Cora had been a who had disappeared mysteriously and been missed by her friends and . Crippen tried to throw the police off the when their suspicions were by Cora’s friends. He told them that she had gone back to California and died there. A quick search of their home by the police had nothing up and the police had decided to the case. But when Crippen and his new girlfriend panicked and ran away, the police at Scotland Yard searched Crippen’s home much more thoroughly and found part of an body buried in the .
Though scientists couldn’t even whether or not the remains were those of a male or female, they did discover that the person had quite possibly died from a substance present in the remains called , which is in large amounts. It was also revealed that Crippen had bought the drug from a local chemist.
After 100 years, the case has been a little controversial lately as modern-day uncover new details about the case using new technologies or criminological techniques. There are people, for instance, who believe evidence may Crippen from this crime. Also, poisoners tend not to dismember their victims, but rather prefer the death to appear natural.
