Plaza Mayor

The Plaza Mayor is definitely a must-see in Madrid and, in fact, must be seen so much that there is a tourist information office on the north side of the plaza. In the summers it's a great place to hang out for a while at an expensive sidewalk café. At Christmas it usually has some fabulous attractions.
