Valleenmedio Campgrounds

This is just over the mountain from the Valley of the Fallen. A group of healthy young teachers could possibly rent a bungalow for the weekend, walk up on Friday from the bus stop at the Valley of the Fallen and return on Sunday and catch the bus back to the city. In any case, there's not much else to do here, but walk or ride bikes.

Peguerinos - A nearby town.

The map at the left will give you an idea of how to get to the Valleenmedio campgrounds. First, you've got to get to Peguerinos (Google Maps). The way I went is up to Puerto Cruz Verde from El Escorial and turn right. It's easy going after that. If you like, you might be able to double check all this at a little tourist information office in Peguerinos.
