Facilities and classrooms:
We have 3 meeting
rooms where language training takes place, a multimedia
room with free internet access (DSL connection), and a resource
library which includes audiovisual facilities for accessing
CDs, MP3s and DVDs. We have a staff room where coffee and
tea are offered.
Have good materials support, photocopier?
Trainers have access to three computers available with DSL
(broadband) connections; printing and photocopying facilities
are also supplied, as is a reference library of textbooks
and supplementary material for general and business English.
Trainers are provided with course books for classes that
require them and have at their disposal more than 100 ready
prepared games (in packs). Additionally we are currently
providing trainers with MP3 players and portable speakers
An innovative online database system facilitates trainers’
administration and serves as a valuable resource for information
and teaching materials. Through this system our trainers
also receive access to innovative and current affairs material
on a weekly basis.
Have "Director of Studies" (DOS) support?
Yes. The Director of studies is available at all time to assist
teachers in the planning of classes and course objectives
while offering advice on the selection of materials at their
disposal, classroom methodology and general helpful guidelines.

Hire at a distance? We prefer to meet
candidates in person to fully evaluate their profile as
a corporate language trainer in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia,
Sevilla and Salamanca.
Hire Americans and do their papers? We
only hire Freelance candidates who possess a European Union
work permit. Every 2/3 years in Spain there has been an
Amnesty for foreigners to get their working papers and we
have sponsored Americans.
Preference for British or Americans?
We
have no preference and hire Irish, Canadians, Scottish,
Australians and New Zealanders as well as non-native bilingual
language trainers who we felt were excellent candidates.

Offer teacher training or development along with
job? Yes. We organize 90 minute seminars/workshops
on a monthly basis in Madrid and Barcelona covering both
methodological aspects of teaching and practical teaching
ideas to use in class.
Trainers have the chance to acquire new techniques while
at the same time the workshops serve as a forum where they
can share their experiences, ideas, issues or concerns and
suggestions about teaching.
There is a useful handout pack with additional reading
material and activities to take away pertinent to each workshop.

Starters' average salary?
Between 20 and 24 euros gross per hour plus bonus for freelance
trainers.

Jan. 20 update: Kennedy requires a Didactic Assistant We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to work closely with our Didactic Development Manager across a wide range of projects related to curriculum development and quality control.
If you enjoy prioritising and managing multiple projects, possess strong communication and relationship skills, enjoy liaising closely with colleagues, teachers and students and you are seeking to challenge yourself in this field, then this role will appeal to you.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Materials preparation – specialised business courses and curriculum based resources.
- Curriculum design in line with the CEFR (Common European Framework).
- Management and maintenance of high quality standards with respect to teacher long term planning and measurement of student progress (objectives, exams and reports).
- Research new methods and resources.
- Management of teaching materials.
- Teacher support and professional development.
- Coordination of BULATS testing.
- Execution and organization of Level Testing.
- Classroom teaching and substitutions.
To be considered for this position you must demonstrate the following:
- A native level of English and C1 level of Spanish.
- Bachelor of Education, DELTA or Post Graduate Certificate of Education (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience, of which at least 2 years are in Spain.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Development of materials such as immersion courses or specialised business English programs.
- Evidence of long term planning and ability to set and achieve learning objectives.
- Passion and empathy for supporting teachers to grow and mature professionally.
- A participative, engaging and flexible delivery style to facilitate effective learning and communication.
- Experience teaching adults in a business environment and knowledge of the needs of Spanish learners.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Advanced professional writing skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office and internet research skills.
- Knowledge of Cambridge ESOL exams and BULATS testing.
- Experience with online teaching an advantage.
