Set up 10 years ago, Telephone TEACHING offers a wide range of services to its clients ranging from telephone classes, face to face classes and intensive courses. It is a small, friendly company to work for and prides itself on taking care of its teachers and giving help and support where needed.

  

Most teachers are asked to teach a combination of Telephone and in-company classes in their first year. After that, many teachers prefer to do just the telephone teaching. Facilities and classrooms: 50% of the classes at Telephone Teaching are done from the teachers own home phone and the other 50% are done in-company. There are actually very few classes on the premises. Have good materials support, photocopier? The teachers are provided with all of the materials they need. Qualification requirements for employment? Any TEFL Certificate required. Experience requirements for employment? One year of experience is required. However, it is very important for the teachers to be good people and they need common sense. A personal interview is a must. Hire at a distance? A face-to-face interview is required. Hire Americans and do their papers? Yes, did it once and it worked out very well. Will do it again. Preference for British or Americans? Why? None. Estimated teachers hired yearly: 30. Billed companies for 2,500 contact hours last year. Teachers at Telephone Teaching for over 4 years? 12. Best part about working at Telephone Teaching: Telephone Teaching is one big happy family. Teachers are their own bosses and there is a great deal of trust between teachers and management. Teachers don't need to call in about re-scheduling problems, for example, and during the holidays are free to re-schedule their students as needed. Offer teacher training or development along with job? The initial Telephone Teaching training period only. The training consists of several 2-hour intensive days working with the manuals followed by a demo class with a volunteer student. Teachers who don't pass the demo class with good feedback from the student wash out. Starters' average salary? Prefer to speak about it in the interview.
