Banco de España photos

These are photos around the Banco de España metro station at Cibeles square. It's west of Puerta de Alcalá and Retiro, east of Alcalá street, north of the Prado museum, southeast of . The northeast corner has Army headquarters, the southeast corner has the Bank of Spain and the southwest corner has the main post office.

  

The statue of Cibeles, the goddess of fertility. When the Madrid soccer (football) team Real Madrid wins a big game, all the fans meet here afterwards.

The statue of Cibeles in the foreground on the right and you can see the Metropolis building in the center. The Gran Via leads off to the right and Puerta del Sol is up to the left about half a kilometre.
