Remember: your progress will be directly proportional to your persistent and constant effort. i.e. the more you study, the better you will learn.
Note: The optional books are for your personal homework. We will not do these in class.

Main Course Bibliography:
General Textbook: New English File: Pre-intermediate Student's Book: Student's Book Pre-intermediate - OUP.
Workbook: New English File Pre-intermediate: Workbook with Answer Booklet and MultiROM Pack: Workbook with Answer Booklet and Multirom Pack Pre-intermediate lev (Paperback) - Cambridge. (This MultiROM has a multimedia program for your personal computer which supposedly includes videos, but I have two of these which do not work. The important part is the recordings you can listen to NOT the MultiROM unfortunately.) There is homework for each lesson.
OUP textbook Website: New English File Pre-intermediate Online. Do the activities. There is homework for each lesson.

Optional:
Frankenstein Graded Readers: Go to your nearest book store and buy a selection of graded readers with accompanying CDs (these are novels, etc. which have been simplified for students of English) and start reading and listening to them. Check the levels of the books. Your level is probably around 2 or 3, but read a little of the book first if possible in order to confirm that you have the level.
Grammar books: (Murphy's intermediate): English Grammar In Use with Answers: A Self-study Reference and Practice Book for Intermediate Students of English (Grammar in Use) - Cambridge. Note that some of these exercises are a little difficult.
(Murphy's elementary): Essential Grammar in Use Edition With Answers: A Self-Study Reference and Practice Book for Elementary Students of English: A Self-study Reference and . . . Students of English (Grammar in Use) - Cambridge.
Note: The second book is much easier than the first book - there are pre-intermediate points in the first book and intermediate points in the second book. Note also that the unit numbers may vary according to the edition you have.
Vocabulary book: (Vocab. in Use) English Vocabulary in Use Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate Book and CD-ROM Pack - Cambridge.
Vocabulary: Understand Phrasal verbs by David Mason, UE. The level of this book varies from pre-intermediate to advanced, but it's very good (there are lots of pictures to help you understand phrasal verbs), so study what you can.
Business English: In Company Pre-intermediate: Student's Book Pack - Macmillan. (Again, this is totally optional.)
Internet: The pages in the "More videos, etc." sections have a lot of different levels. Good luck!
Pronunciation in general: Phonetic Chart- downloadable phonetic chart. Compare with phonetics.
