Valleenmedio Campgrounds
This was my base camp towards the trail above where I took the
photograph above of the Valley of the Fallen. You need a car to get there, but you can also access the trail from Camping El Escorial (A 1.5-hour trip from Madrid - the bus drops you a 5-minute walk from the campgrounds.)

The trail we took to get the same photo. The walk from Camping El Escorial wouldn't be just a Sunday stroll in the park.

A beautiful natural park. It takes 15-25 minutes from Manzanares el Real to get to the entrance of the park.
